As Old As Time.

Try to remember when you think about acupuncture and Chinese medicine and the lungevity that it has. Think about this the United States is a little over three hundred years old. The Roman Empire was built about 2,000 years ago the pyramids were built 4000 years ago. If people think that Chinese medicine or acupuncture is more than just different it's unproven please think about the millions upon millions of people who have received help and thrived with this ancient unproven Medical Practice. If acupuncture and Chinese medicine is experimental then the Chinese language should be seen as experimental. According to the best records know acupuncture is over 6000 years old. I think that we should take the best of what it offers and view it as a valid and vital part of the options that we have in healthcare. It has stood the test of time.

Mom knew.

Who would have thought that moms knew something about Chinese medicine? At one point, my mom had told me don't do anything during the day that would keep you awake at night. In Chinese medicine, there is a diagnositic system based on the clock. Between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m., we refer to that time as the gallbladder time. No, not the actual gallbladder, but it does refer to the emotions associated to the gallbladder which are aggrevation or frustration or difficult decisions that have to be made. You won't be able to sleep during those times.

Between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. is liver time. Again, don't panic, your liver is fine. It means your are really annoyed and angry.

Between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. is lung time. Those times are when the concepts of grief and sadness are messing with your mind.

It doesn't have to be a current issue, it could be something that you haven't dealt with in awhile. But believe me, it is in there. Sometimes when we put things away to deal with another day, that day never seems to come around. But believe, those issues are in there and sometimes there isn't a resolution, but there can be acceptance. Through acceptance we could often move on.

Who knew moms were so smart.
